Meet Namrata Kothanda Raman, Founder of Nurture Nest and Qualified Integrative Practitioner
Welcome! I’m Namrata, a compassionate and dedicated counselling professional with a genuine passion for mental health and personal well-being. With an MSc in Counselling from Bangor University and over 125 hours of hands-on counselling experience, I am deeply committed to helping individuals work through their challenges and improve their mental health.
Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of working with diverse client populations, offering support for a wide range of issues, including anxiety, depression, bereavement, and more. My experience has given me a deep understanding of the unique needs of each person, and I strive to create personalized treatment plans that promote healing and growth.
I believe that empathy, active listening, and building a safe, non-judgmental space are the cornerstones of effective counselling. My training and experience have equipped me with a solid foundation in mental health support, conducting risk assessments, and utilizing evidence-based techniques. Whether you’re struggling with grief, emotional stress, or simply seeking a supportive environment to explore your feelings, I am here to listen and guide you on your journey.
Education & Training
MSc in Counselling, Bangor University, UK (Sept 2022 - May 2024)
BSc in Psychology, M.O.P. Vaishnav College for Women, India (June 2019 - April 2022)
In addition to my formal education, I’ve earned several certifications, including a foundation course in bereavement support and therapeutic processing in trauma. I’m also passionate about continuous learning, attending various workshops and training to stay updated on the latest developments in counselling practices.
Experience As a Trainee Counsellor with organizations like Age UK Wirral, WEB Merseyside, and Cruse Bereavement, I have gained invaluable experience working with a range of client needs. I have specialized in:
Supporting adults through anxiety, depression, and loneliness
Offering grief support to those experiencing loss
Conducting research to further understand the impact of mental health interventions
One of the most rewarding aspects of my work is helping people navigate the challenges that arise in difficult times, whether it's the emotional burden of grief or the complexities of anxiety and depression.
My Approach to Counselling I believe in creating a safe and open space where my clients feel heard and understood. Each person’s journey is unique, and I work with you to tailor the counselling process to suit your individual needs. My approach blends empathy, active listening, and a variety of therapeutic techniques to help you explore your thoughts and emotions at your own pace.
In addition to individual therapy, I have developed psychoeducational resources for children, such as an educational YouTube video on anger management for young children, reflecting my interest in supporting both adults and young people through various emotional challenges.
