Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
What is Counselling?
Counseling is a professional, collaborative process that helps individuals explore and work through personal, emotional, or psychological challenges in a safe, confidential environment. A trained counselor, therapist, or psychologist uses various techniques and therapeutic approaches to help you understand your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and support you in making positive changes.
Counseling typically involves talking through your concerns, identifying patterns, and setting goals. It can be used to address a variety of issues, such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, trauma, and personal growth.
How do I know if counseling is right for me?
If you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or facing emotional challenges, counseling can provide support and clarity. Therapy is a great way to address mental health concerns, improve coping skills, and make positive changes in your life. If you're unsure, schedule a consultation to discuss your concerns with me.
What can I expect during my first session?
In your first session, we’ll discuss your goals, challenges, and personal history. This is an opportunity for you to share what’s on your mind, and for us to understand how we can best support you. We’ll also go over the counseling process and confidentiality.
How long is each session?
Sessions typically last for upto 50 minutes.
How often should I attend counseling sessions?
The frequency of sessions depends on your needs and goals. Typically, clients attend once a week, but we can adjust based on what works best for you.

Your personal information and the details of your sessions are kept private, except in certain situations where we are legally required to disclose information (e.g., risk of harm to yourself or others). We will always discuss any exceptions to confidentiality with you beforehand.
What are the fees for the sessions and are there any discounts?
Yes, usually I charge £50 per session however for students it is £30, veterans £30, and for low income people £20. Only card payments accepted.
Can I switch counselors if I don’t feel comfortable?

What is your cancellation policy?
We request that you cancel or reschedule at least 48 hours in advance to avoid a cancellation fee. Cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice may incur a no refund of the session fee, and no-shows will be charged the full session fee.
